We also need short dresses.. While looking to glam my Lalafell, I was looking around for dresses.. There are only 2 that can be worn by all classes.
Bridesmaid's dress
Spring Dress
I was looking for a short one that comes down to above the knee, but there isn't one in the entire game.. so I ended up using my Lalafell clothes instead.

I don't think anyone is really saying they just want pretty dresses, I think its quite the opposite, many people want more of a "utility" look than a robey/dressy look. Its something about XIV that has really bother me, I mean XI captured a variety of mage armor so well! And XIV (ultimately XI's successor in terms of MMO knowledge) just seemed to throw all that out the door.

Not enough variety of any robes in this game, long or short.I am pretty tired of many of these frilly robes that many mages must have to wear throughout the game.
While I never played FF11, some of the mage gear look pretty nice in their simplicity; dare i say practicality:
I'd link the 2.0-2.5 gears, but most of you should have already seen them by now

I think we could use more unique looking armor in general. That or the ability to dye them, I really dislike that a lot of armor can't be dyed (Ones that are worth it anyway)

With the exception of poetics, the gear for mages have been becoming increasingly more fanciful with each new patch. It's like they're compelled to add random potions, satchels, gold/silver inlays just to fill out empty spaces.
What makes it worse is that they no longer makes short robes/ bilauds.

Yes, it is sad that there are no high level bilauds. I think they are the best DoM body model of all. With the exception of soldiery, the gear for mages have been becoming increasingly more fanciful with each new patch. It's like they're compelled to add random potions, satchels, gold/silver inlays just to fill out empty spaces.
What makes it worse is that they no longer makes short robes/ bilauds.

seems like I'll have to retire my white mage permanently.
and ninja's new outfit isn't good either.

If people have such an issue with how this armor looks, why not just Glamour? Along with Desynth and Seals, this seems to be the only purpose of dungeon gear anyway
Again, why not just glamour? The system exists for a reason. Seems silly to retire a class over an outfit.
