From what I am aware, this is actually incorrect - any unused 1.0 item voucher (1.0 CE Onion Helm, 1.0 1st run Standard edition Garlond Goggles, FFXIII 'Square Enix Members' Asuran Armlets code if previously acquired but not yet used, 1.0 CE 'friend invitation' bonus registration code which is essentially a free copy of the game) all still work with ARR - you just need to input them in the Mogstation like the modern ARR codes, as these apparently do not have a 'use by' date.

The exception to this is of course the Hermes Shoes bonus for linking a FFXIV 1.0 account with a FFXI account, and Legacy Campaign eligibility, but those were not acquired by item vouchers as the player had to satisfy certain requirements first before they would be granted such goodies automatically, that carried across into ARR.

My Naraku Diabolos character has the Hermes Shoes. Too bad that the item isn't tied to my account so all of my characters can have it and just not my Legacy character. You get infinite Sprint inside cities (lasts for 30 seconds), as you can use it right away again after Sprint goes away in 30 seconds.
