It's extremely silly! D: And since Au Ra won't be getting Horn "socks" because of their variation of horn types; Why can't Elezen and Lalafell have cut outs for their ears in hoods and cowls because WE too have variation of ear types/sizes!

Here's an edit (rather shoddy 3 min one) of what could be done to address the currently existing and new helms that cover us long eared races.



My elezen doesn't have long enough ears to show off a decent facial view; so I had to do a profile view.

While my Elezen doesn't have long enough ears to make a difference in showing how this could be handled; I did make a profile view edit of what could be done!

This look stupid. Elezeen ears should be flexible enough that the hat can press them against the head without problems. No need for holes, but also no need for ear bags.
And for cloth hats, the Elezeen could use a rubber band to prevent his ears from standing out

Do you know how discomforting that would be? Lalafell and Elezen ears are comprised of thick cartilage. Yet your Miqo'te ears are comprised of thin cartilage and flesh. It would be extremely uncomfortable for us to have our ears folded against our heads in a way they are not meant to. Miqo'te ears; like cats ears, can pivot, flatten, and move. Elezen and Lalafell ears are more like human ears. Go ahead and fold yours ears forward from the base of your ear and hold it there. See how uncomfortable it is? That's what would happen to Elezen and Lalafell with your suggestion.

My edit is in no way what and how it should be done; but merely something that could be done.

This isn't just about Elezen but Lalafell as well.

if any of you drive motorcycles out there, you will understand that when slipping the helmet on over your head can really hurt your ears around the neck part. imagine having huge ears and doing that, NOPE. Equality! ear holes! or at least the ability to toggle the socks off.

I never did understand how all of those Ishgardian knights were able to put on their helmets..



Cloth hoods at least seemed doable. But those chainmail balaclavas? lawl.

While this may be true; the main purpose of this thread is to raise awareness that not all Lalafell and Elezen ears are the same. My Elezen's ears are very small, so small he almost looks Hyur like from a facial view. But when I put on a helm, hood, or cowl.. he suddenly sprouts ears three to four times their actual length!

This just doesn't look pleasing to me or others!

I do not play Elezen, I do not play Lalafell, every single piece of headgear fits my head snug and perfectly, but I support this thread, because having all headgear make them look like circus freaks is kinda weird and messed up. There's gotta be something that looks better.
