Losing the RMT spam war SE?

I had to change my status to busy the other day on Sargatanas. I don't even play more than 1 hour a day typically anymore if I'm just doing a couple roulettes but I'm still inundated from the minute I log on to when I'm about to log-off.

Sanity-wise, it's crazy. I'm envious of the people saying they don't have much of a problem on their server, but looking at the posts here and their server representation, the majority seem to, excluding the Japanese we don't know about.

I agree it's getting really annoying. I seriously will get like 4 tells in a row -_-
I don't want to filter my tells or switch to /busy cause I actually use my tells,
but its just getting so annoying that I am strongly considering it since SE doesn't do shit about them.
Wish people would stop buying gil so there wouldn't be such a "demand" for RMT... >_<

I've become so fed up with it that I've decided it's time for a break from FF. Cancelled my subscription and started up on another MMO for awhile. I'll check back with FF after the expansion comes out to see if SE has addressed this at all, but I've found so many other games where this isn't an issue that I'm just not dealing with it anymore.

Dunno why SE is so against giving us a "delete all" button for our blacklist and a white list feature for /tell's.

Gilgamesh is HORRIBLE right now. I log on. First thing I hear is the tell sound from a spammer. Delete 30 or more people off my blacklist, and end up filling it up again the same day. I'm so sick of the constant spam I gave into putting up /busy status and ignoring my friends tells for a couple hours.

Indeed, but think about how many players must be actively buying gil to justify this level of effort by RMT on various worlds. That's truly disgusting. I feel that the level of RMT spam is merely disappointing by comparison.

A lot less players would be buying gil if SE did anything to try and stop them. With how lethargic SE is in terms of banning bots and spammers, and even with how openly they allow cheating as you can see in the TT tournaments, it's no wonder people who want to buy gil go ahead and do it, because they don't have much to fear from SE. If they can so easily get away with it, why shouldn't they?
We can't make people change their ways and stop buying gil of their own volition, just like we can't tell drug addicts to stop buying drugs. If SE doesn't properly cull the RMT in their game, nobody else can do it for them.

Starting? That's how they started originally, the progressed to using /tell and other tactics, but shouting in zones was their original M.O.

Oh when I started to play I never saw any shouts must have started to play after they got that under control for a little bit
