Losing the RMT spam war SE?

I'm aghast. RMTs are back to shouting in hub cities like in the early days of 2.0. It's gotten so bad that I've just turned off shouts (in addition to /tells). They're probably doing this because they know SE doesn't give a damn; why NOT be more bold, if you know no one will do anything to stop you?

This is effing ridiculous. SE, you need to step your game up and step it up soon before no one is playing yours anymore except RMT bots.

I played for exactly one hour this morning and received twelve RMT tells in that time. Busy status is not a viable option; SE needs to do something, because this is getting annoying.

Plot twist: Maybe SE doesn't want to get rid of the RMT and is working with them for extra profit and making it seem like to us players that they are /airquotes "fighting against them". This is the only solid explanation I can think of for not giving us proper /tell management since the start of this game over 2 years ago!

Simple solutions for example:

1) Blocking tells from people that aren't on our friends list.
2) Blocking tells from people that are under level x so new characters that RMT use can't message us before a certain level that WE get to choose from 1 to 50.
3) Also blocking friend requests from RMT or anybody else and by letting only us befriend someone if we really want to.
4) Giving us a button to completely clear our blacklist when it's full which otherwise then results us in wasting our game time when we have to clear it one by one to make room for new RMT to be added in.
5) OR/and increasing the blacklist length to ..say 100000 names instead of only a petty 200?

Nobody wants to see 10-20 RMT messages EVERY HOUR on your chatlog, nobody. SE has no excuse for not doing this for us and they haven't so far and the above is the only explanation why they haven't.

SE, you are RUINING your own game with not doing anything about this issue whether you're doing it on purpose or not. This issue is more serious than any of your coming content updates and expansions.

It seems this is not enough, now they spam on Shout... And the same caracther has been spamming two days, is anything SE going to do or what? I've been sending reports and the response is the same "we are investigating"... What a crap.

The confirmation window for blacklisting could be expanded to help with reporting, and not just for RMT but for any kind of reportable/bannable behavior.

What would you like to blacklist:
O This character (not the player account)
O This character and the player account

If you click on Report This Character, then it goes to a new window that lists reasons why, similar to the Vote Dismiss window:

The report should automatically include your character's name, current world/zone, in-game and out-of-game time, and the name of the person being reported (including the last 2-3 chat messages they made if name-clicking from the chat log) so that if no Additional Information is added, they still have a full report without requiring the player to fill out everything manually.

And then they should make use of that filter that Yoshi mentioned they use on /tells too, instead of just /shouts. Oh, and also update the filter daily. I've noticed a couple of new companies advertising recently and one of them was spamming /shouts freely because they weren't in the filters yet.

My black list is constantly maxed out (every so often I go through it and delete handfuls) and I still get several RMT /tells per hour. It slowed down for awhile but it's back in full force lately. Seriously SE... fix it. Fix it NAO!

SE needs to accept that they suck at this spam filter thing and go buy one that is proven to work to implement in their game. You do not have this problem in World of Warcraft and there are just as many people desperate to sell their gold on that game as there are on this game. There is no excuse for this kind of spam. I just server transferred from Pheonix which had no real spam to speak of, to Lamia where I maxed my blacklist out within two days.

Unacceptable. Block accounts from whispering until at least level 5 or something.

Going busy isn't saving me anymore. It helps a little from the constant harassment on lamia, but they just spam now in the say (main) chat boxes for the major cities because it's the only way they know they can get at people now because everyone is using the busy status now. Now you can't have a conversation in the regular chat in the main cities because it gets lost in the ten different Gil companies spam. Encouraging us to be anti social by only giving us the busy option to avoid the CONSTANT harassment is a poor business model to adopt in an MMO, SE.

why not have an option under black list that is titled "Spam". When an RMT posts if more than say 10 people hit spam in a certain amount of time then that account chat is locked for a period of time (a few days). This does not stop the problem but would help slow the large amount of crap we get.

At this point, I feel like the community is trying to bargain with a brick wall when trying to ask for SE to implement something to stem the tide of RMT.

Despite the several threads that continue to pop up with people pleading with SE to implement better filters and/or better methods of dealing with RMT, not a single response from SE. Not a hint of things being developed that would make things better. Only their word that accounts are being banned each time one of those RMT ban updates are posted.

The only thing SE has designed to deal with RMT was to add rightclick->black-list.
