Working on BLM Relic...

Only because I was bored at the time (... don't ask), decided to work on my BLM Relic weapon. Well, now I'm at the Animus level and have to gather the 75 Materia/Alexandrite and I'm a little... curious... about this next step. I know I can only gather three types of Materia and I've been recommended to focus on Spell Speed, Accuracy and Determination.

Is that the standard setup or are their any other worthwhile combinations I should consider? Also, with Alexandrite, I know I can get them with Allied Seals and in FATE's (though I've been told the drop rate is pretty low in FATE's)... is there any other way? I've heard there's a daily quest one can do as well to get Alexandrite, but just want to get some more info/clarification.

I am at the same point with animus bow, while i don't know about materias, I always ask help with those, to get alexes is:

1. fates
2. allied seals
3. buy maps with sols (400 sols for a map)
4. daily quest in mor dhona for expert roulette gives you a map after finishing the exp roulette

Drop rate in fates isnt bad between 5-10% id say

You can technically infuse up to five types of materia. It's just that two is the ideal to maximize the stats players want most, and three is the more affordable route to decently raise three stats and not have to spend Tier IV materia.

I can't give recommendations on BLM stats. I only know that BLMs have more varied builds than most.
Like determination is always a safe stat, and hence is generally the most expensive since every job can make use of it.
Similarly, crit is popular for being another stat that more directly boosts your damage. Last I recall, about 14-15 points translates to about 1% crit rate.
But BLMs additionally have been able to make use of spell speed and PIE in some builds. Both of them require heavy stacking to see appreciable results. I know the idea behind PIE was to increase your maxMP enough to fit another Fire into a rotation, but that takes a lot of crafted gear and planning.

Regarding the daily quest, there should've been an NPC (Ealdwine?) with a quest right next to Jalzahn in North Shroud. And he directs you to Brangwine for the daily quest in Mor Dhona.

For me depends if RNG-god loves me or not - I went from 0 drops in the hours farming, to 5 drops from 5 fates in a row. I combine all of the methods (but allied seals);

I went for 44 spellspeed and 31 determination on my blm. Cost maybe 5mil in total

Currently I've done my Omnilex Novus with "standard" stats and I've done it in 1 week 3 days. Mostly I only do FATEs on Northern Thanalan for tier 4 materia and company seals for Lucis. Some is from daily alex map, spend soldiery for alex map too, and hunt. (FYI FATE's RNG for Alexandrite is really horrible than atma)

They're actually pretty good now. Once upon a time, they used to be *worse* than what atma used to be, pre-nerf.

No, they're still pretty terrible. If you've had better luck, all the power to you. I'll always recommend buying them with soldiery or allied seals as your fastest route.
