I use Thancred, Urianger, Papalymo-Yda, Y'shtola and Minfilia.
If I go first, I always start with Thancred on bottom LEFT to bait his strong cards. he will follow with Gaius or Bahamut. Capture his strong card, take back Thancred, then defend.

Thanks.I'll give that a try.
I do the same, but I personally do come across 1 or 2 play styles that the NPC uses that tends to end in Draw for me. Both of them involve the NPC using Nero too, I think lol. It usually plays out similar to if the NPC goes first and throws Bahamut to mid right. I go Thancred bottom left, which will usually force the Gaius card to claim it (good outcome), but it will otherwise throw a Nero down to center if it doesn't go with the Gaius. Basically, the NPC seems to be either baiting or delaying the match instead of falling for the Thancred trap lol.
If he starts with Bahamut middle right. Put Y'shtola middle. Wait for his turn (usually follows with Livia, nero or gauis). Put Minfilia bottom left, and you should be able to take back y'shtola after that. Myself I play Minfilia first, in the bottom left.
1. If he uses Gaius in the top middle, put Thancred in the top right. If he uses Bahamut or Nero in the right middle spot, capture both Gaius and Bahamut using Y'shtola. You should be able to turtle from there.
2. If he puts Bahamut/Nero in the top left instead, capture Gaius using Y'shtola. If he then captures Y'shtola from any one of the two weak sides, recapture Y'shtola using Papalymo & Yda, and turtle from there. If he does not capture a card, put Urianger in the bottom right instead.
3. If he starts with Bahamut middle right, then follows up with Nero in the center, place Urianger in the bottom right. Chances are he will follow up with Gaius in the top middle - capture Nero using Y'shtola and proceed from there. If he puts Gaius in the top right instead, capture Nero from the top using Thancred instead.
This is my Imperial strategy mainly.
Lol nice
Tht guy who won his fenrir mount must be like lol wut a try hard if they ever read this thread.
I'd probs cry if SE took this as feedback and changed the imperial AI so tht they will be more random and smarter etc.
could happen lol could..
Should have took a pic in mor with a bunch of ppl mobbing u.
GOOD GAWD!!!!!!
I want to do this, but I got so much stuff to do on my plate that it'll be awhile before I farm for Fenrir mount. Triple Triad was a big distraction for me. It's fun, though.
I just got mine and I'm the first to get one on Excalibur ヽ(。・ω・。)ノ
Funnily enough, I too got 15 Gaius cards, heh. The rest were something like:
Livia: 1,500+
Rhit: 1,500+
Nero: 1,000+
Congratz! That mount looks Bitchin' #NiceWhip
Haha, personally, I'd be thrilled to death if I could just farm up the 200k needed for the Adamantoise! I'm only up to 21k though Q_Q
