Do you think SE will ever make mounts/achievements accountwide?

If they did, would you want this? I am just curious to see how the community stands on such matters.

This would be in a way similar to WoW, where things such as total kills/total gil earned/most mounts (probably excluding like, wedding mounts), minions, titles, etc were accountwide.

I am personally in support of this myself. The game is quite punishing on alternate characters as it stands. However, I am curious how others feel on the topic.

I would love that because I have a good chunk of legacy items that I would love to use on an alternate character but I can't. SE while it does great things; it also takes the most obtuse stances on things sometimes.

Whilst I can see the merits of doing this and see no reason not to it's probably worth noting that the majority of players only have the one single character. The demand for a change like this will probably be quite low simply due to few players even needing such a change. I would certainly be in support of it though.

Also WoW didn't make its achievements account-wide until many years after launch IIRC.

I would like something like this very much. Achievements and certain vanity items being shared between your characters would be great. So would, y'know, the ability to send mail between your characters, but I digress.

Honestly, it irritates me a bit how alt unfriendly this game is. I understand the appeal of "you can do everything on one character!", and I really do appreciate it. But sometimes it feels more like "lol you're doing it wrong if you don't do everything on one character", and I wish they'd make a few minor tweaks to make playing alts less inconvenient. It isn't as though everyone would start playing five different characters or something, what with this little thing called the armory system.

Quite true, but that has no meaning to a game that could do the same now. Just because WoW didn't do it for the first 8 years, doesn't mean another MMO has to wait til an 8 year cycle to try it.

As an altaholic, I'd support something like this. There's very little reason not to do it, since it'll either be a nice thing for those leveling alts, or won't affect people who have just the one character they do everything on. Either way, it isn't hurting or hindering anyone.

I would love this, as I have an alt on a different server. They already make legacy rewards accountwide, so why not other things too?

Sorry, but I think that's a terrible idea (and yes I do have two alts, although they're both on a separate service account to my main account). To change the achievements from per character to per account just ruins any sort of statistics and there would be no way to work out how many of whatever the current character had actually done since it'd be including all the alts too.

Things like the relic achievements would make no sense too, you could have a brand new character with the new adventurer logo, but with the Insatiable title (leveled all DoW/DoM jobs and got a relic for each)... obviously that character wouldn't have actually done that so it just makes titles completely pointless too.

And what about family members that each have a character on the same account? I'm sure initially they'd welcome having the rewards from their combined effort, but later possibly they'd realise their stats were no longer their own and therefore... pointless.

Separate characters are just that.

You should think of this in the role play mindset. Your character Titor Jaraba achieved these great feats. While Alt character Titor The'second (for lack of knowing what you may call another character) did not.

While yes, you the player did perform the actions that caused Titor to succeed, you did not perform the actions to cause Mr. The'second to succeed.
