Thread: Some Job requirements make no sense

Bard. Now that I know how to punch stuff, I can sing songs and play a harp!

Monk. After practicing on how to stab things with a really pointy and long stick, I can fist things like never before!

Black Mage. After learning how to shoot arrows, I can cast spells easier!

The combinations have never really made sense in the FFT games either, I mean to unlock Dragoon in Tactics you had to level up Thief...why of all jobs the thief? no one knows.

I think with a little imagination, they make enough sense to pass.

Archery is hard on the arm muscles, so building upper body strength as a pugilist seems to make sense. Same is true for lancer and pugilist.

As for black mage requiring archery, maybe the point is accuracy of ranged shot? Black mage is also a ranged DPS, so you'd imagine that being able to pinpoint your target on the battlefield and aim well would be a necessary before casting your spell. (If we're talking from a more "realistic" perspective anyway.)

The one that doesn't make much sense to me is that NIN doesn't get to use BRD cross class abilities since they're perfect for the NIN.

Some cross-class abilities are lackluster. I hope the expansion changes things up.
