Steam + Heavensward CE: SE's Customer Service

Heyo!

So a few members of my FC (myself included) have been contacting SE about Heavensward's CE for Steam.

The support representative said that the CE will work for steam accounts. The representative also mentioned something about our accounts getting upgraded.

Just wanted to post and see if we can get an official confirmation from any of the community managers or devs and see if this is true.

Cause if it is, it would be VERY VERY awesome and I would jump on the CE preorders right away if it did! Also would end the grumblings that most of us have about not being able to use the code in the CE box...

I don't know, I read on the ffxiv twitter that directed to a steam post with something about steam players needing to get heavensward on steam. :x

This is correct. Users who purchased FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn on Steam will need to purchase FINAL FANTASY XIV: Heavensward on Steam as well.

Yes, we are currently working with Valve to launch pre-orders for the Steam version of Heavensward (standard and digital Collector's Edition) that would include the pre-order bonuses.

physical CE Heavensward will not work with Steam cd key , you will need to wait for Steam CE Heavensward ver

I used the physical game for my client but I'm still happy to see steam players get equal opportunity to get it.

If you are Steam User as Cd key you will need to get Steam CE Heavensward your physical CE Heavensward cd key is not use

I've been to the twitter, I saw the steam posts from the links above.

I'm just wondering if the response is different now that we have multiple SE customer service people on the boat that "The Collecter's Edition will be able to work with a Steam-based account"
Multiple.

One guy called twice. Another a few times as well.

Again, all I want is a clarification and the chance at getting physical items without spending approximately $250 dollars to try and level up myself to about 4 level 50 classes again.

Hello guys! (And hi Raih!) Yeah, I was that person that called twice (and emailed once just to be super sure) and all 3 said something about the account changing. They said that compatibility issues would not occur between Steam and the PC version of the current preorder item. Like I said, they've said it three times (and within those 3 contacts, I asked and reasked just to make sure they were SURE). They assured me it would NOT be a problem.

Do with this what you will, but you can test it out and call customer service yourselves. I'm not kidding :/
