If you use SCH more then all in MND, if you use SMN more then all in INT. If you want to use both, then us the Keeper Hymn (from GC for 250 seals each) and change the points to the appropriate stat for the class you are about to use.

And whatever you do, do not listen to the advice of people who say INT on SCH as it doesnt matter, if you are a SCH, then you are a healer and MND is your primary stat. If you decide to DPS whilst healing, you use clerics stance which makes the 30 points in INT absolutely obsolete. (Source: end game SCH, T13).

They meant that SMN with 30 less INT is way worse at their role than a SCH with 30 less MND.

First of all i assume you are responding to me.

If you are not then disregard this.

If i was referring directly to someone on this thread, i would have quoted them in my answer. However, i have not. What i was doing is referring to the general advice that a lot of misinformed people give about putting all bonus points on SCH into INT as it doesnt matter. This advice is common enough to give the OP the advice that i have.

And i still stand by it. If anyone advises you to put all bonus points into INT if you main SCH, then they are wrong.

Honestly I just split the stat into two. I don't play SMN at all though so I could probably put some more MND oomph, but... I like DPSing as scholar.
If you like DPSing as a Scholar and you don't play SMN, you should go 30 mind, what's the doubt?

I actually did the caclulations for this, for the first 30 points at least. I'll post my response from another thread here, since more than one person has asked this question.

    POST FOR PREVIOUS THREAD.

Actually, I tested this out to figure out where the points should be placed; the first 30 anyway. FYI I main as a Scholar/Summoner. Anyway the points should go into Intelligence, not Mind, if you plan on playing both. If you plan on only being a Scholar then by all means place them in mind. The reason for this is when all 30 points are placed in intelligence you do an additional 13-20 points of damage per tick, not counting crits, which totals about an additional 130-200 points of damage per DoT, which is an additional 390-600 points of damage without any buffs.

However, if you place the points in mind you only do about an additional 40-65 points of healing, again without crits or buffs. It's easy to see that the additional damage greatly outways the additional healing. Now I will say that the gear someone has equiped will alter these numbers a bit. Note that my two jobs are on par with one another, same ilevel equipment and everything so it's not like my Summoner was i110 but my Scholar was i95, they were both i112 at the time.

I hope this helps you a bit, while I cannot say that this point allocation will continue as it is now, I can say with certainty that until Heavensward is released Intelligence is the way to go.

I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.

Don't neglect the effect of MND on SCH damage, however.

If I played both jobs more equally, I'd just carry more Hymns around since they're dirt-cheap. I would want my SCH to be able to have both the best possible healing + damage and my SMN to be able to have the best possible damage at any given time.
