How do I put attribute points for SCH & SMN?

    Hello,

I'm new to Arcanist. I just switch to play to Arcanist to find some new airs. Currently I'm at level 22, and at first I want to go with SMN since I need more DPS class beside my BRD (I want to get BLM too).

But also, it hit another wall. I want to get my SCH at the same time! And the attribute points give me a little bit confuse because I don't know how to spare the points for both of them.

Currently I put all my points into Intelligent. Should I share half of those points to Mind? Or put them all to Int, and when I play SCH I choose to Cleric Stance?

Thank you so much for reading this and sharing your advices.

Please don't do this. If CS ONLY switched INT and MND, then fine but it specifically reduces your healing as well.

Honestly I just split the stat into two. I don't play SMN at all though so I could probably put some more MND oomph, but... I like DPSing as scholar.

If you like DPSing as a Scholar and you don't play SMN, you should go 30 mind, what's the doubt?

I actually did the caclulations for this, for the first 30 points at least. I'll post my response from another thread here, since more than one person has asked this question.

    POST FOR PREVIOUS THREAD.

Actually, I tested this out to figure out where the points should be placed; the first 30 anyway. FYI I main as a Scholar/Summoner. Anyway the points should go into Intelligence, not Mind, if you plan on playing both. If you plan on only being a Scholar then by all means place them in mind. The reason for this is when all 30 points are placed in intelligence you do an additional 13-20 points of damage per tick, not counting crits, which totals about an additional 130-200 points of damage per DoT, which is an additional 390-600 points of damage without any buffs.

However, if you place the points in mind you only do about an additional 40-65 points of healing, again without crits or buffs. It's easy to see that the additional damage greatly outways the additional healing. Now I will say that the gear someone has equiped will alter these numbers a bit. Note that my two jobs are on par with one another, same ilevel equipment and everything so it's not like my Summoner was i110 but my Scholar was i95, they were both i112 at the time.

I hope this helps you a bit, while I cannot say that this point allocation will continue as it is now, I can say with certainty that until Heavensward is released Intelligence is the way to go.

I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.

Actually, that's not possible. Cleric Stance would reduce healing and increase magic power when active. Not to mention that Scholars don't get int on their gear and Summoners don't get Mind on their gear. The difference is massive. A scholar in Cleric Stance would have something like 200 mind. Summoner's can't even use Cleric's Stance, so let's not even talk about that.

What you COULD do is stockpile on those stat-reset items. They're only 250 Company Seals nowadays. That is, if you can be bothered to.

Stack on the hymns to reset your stats and swap on demand. 30 MND when playing SCH, 30 INT when playing SMN.

Those stat-reset hymns used to be 10k seals pop so it was a pain in the ass, but as they are 250 seals now, you get 40 of those items for the price of one, if going by the past rate. Even if you swap between SCH and SMN often, 250 seals per swap is not a lot at all.

If for some reason you still don't like the idea - go full INT. Won't cripple your SCH gameplay as much as not getting max DPS on a SMN via having MND points would gimp you.

As long as you're not trying to beat the final coil, any setup is fine. The ultimate thing you want to improve is your weapon, as Weapon Damage outweighs every single stat in the game. You can be a very decent SCH with 30points in INT (remember, for healers, skill > gear), as well as a good SMN with 30points in MND.
If you cant choose, go for MND, it will increase your DPS in SCH in Cleric Stance.

worth noting that due to the way spells scale it is much more important to have 30 int on smn than 30 mnd on sch (healing spells actually do not scale v well, so you lose only a little hps) so if you dont wanna buy oodles of hymns and you expect to play both, take int.
