The feather bit (assuming looking same place) is just that I recruited someone. I believe the two faces icon you're describing means you were recruited by someone.

The bit to look for is that circle "Subscription Payment Steam Wallet". Only Steam versions of FFXIV have that option. If you have it, you have the Steam version. If you don't have it, you don't have the Steam version.
