How do I Unlink my characters from steam version of ffxiv?

I would like to know this as well. And also, how can I be sure if my account is linked to Steam or not?

I wish to connect my character to ffxiv acct 2 (non steam version)

Sorry, but to the best of my knowledge, you can't. I've heard of tech support moving over subscriptions that were added to the wrong account by mistake (after jumping through a lot of hoops), but never anyone actually moving a character to another account. You could contact customer services and ask them (these are user forums so you won't get an official answer here), but I don't think you'll get good news based on everything I've read from other people in the past. I hope I'm wrong though...

Curious as to what your Steam related problems are though? I have my main account as normal PC download (originally a 1.0 account) and a 2nd account on the same service account which was from Steam and hardly notice the difference. The non-steam one takes payment automatically every 6 months and the Steam one I just pay via Steam Wallet when it runs out (I think I can actually set up auto billing, I just haven't bothered).

Basically if you bought the game through Steam, then it is the Steam version. Also if you log into the Mogstation ( https://secure.square-enix.com/accou...vc/mogstation/ ) on the opening page if you have a Steam account it'll show about the Steam wallet as shown in my screenshot below:

This is confusing me a bit too, because I brought the game, though my original download was from the FFXIV site iirc, through Steam, but mine doesn't look like that. Mine has two faces where the feather should be and I don't have to pay my sub through steam.

So I'm unsure if it's flagged as a steam account or not. I'd presume it would be still, but if there's a way I can leave Steam without losing my characters, I would love to find out.

If I have to start a new character, so be it. But with most of my crafting classes at level 50, I can't say I relish the idea of starting again.
