Exactly, a few of my Steam games are PC/Mac/Linux compatible with 1 purchase.
As it seems I am crying out loud about it. I'm just doing a favor for OS X users, 3-4 of my PC are Windows/Linux and only 1 MacBook Pro 2010.

Yup, those are Steam Play games. https://support.steampowered.com/kb_...9439-QHKN-1308
Steam hasn't had EDIT: many games that required a rebuy to play on different platforms since 2010: http://www.shacknews.com/article/637...team-play-game EDIT: Call of Duty Black Ops might be one of those exceptions, if you happen to be buying the base game by itself. http://store.steampowered.com/app/214630/
I suppose the existing Steam version getting Mac support for free would be some consolation, if that's ever provided. To sell a Mac version but have the Steam version PC-only would probably not be a good idea (the draw of having a Steam version in the first place would be further diminished if that was the case).

That is only because Activision did not publish the Mac version, a separate Mac-specific company (Aspyr) published the title. SE is publishing the Mac version of FFXIV and I believe it is unprecedented that an MMORPG charge for a Mac client.EDIT: Call of Duty Black Ops might be one of those exceptions, if you happen to be buying the base game by itself. http://store.steampowered.com/app/214630/
