Although I see your point, this relates to people seeming to want everything for free from SE, what I got to buy it for PC and PS3/PS4? What I have to buy the expansion? What I have to buy the Mac version? Anyone seeing a trend here?

I take that you haven't been playing PC Games / MMO for 17+ years.
PS is regulated under PSN Sony store, that's the problem with license split cost.
Xbox is regulated under MS Xlive store, that's the problem with license split cost + online cross play regulation.
PC is regulated under (NO ONE) install which every OS you wanted.
Mac version is a Transgaming Cider wrapper, if you open it the app file. it will contains the Windows files. The same exact version has Windows. Emulated client for OS X platform.
You're saying SE is changing $59 for a modified Wine wrapper (which is free open source) is fine? Oh hoho what? Mac users should stick to Bootcamp.

There we go, as I thought. You're going to use that excuse.
Other MMO are not toxic, unless you're being one right now. Facts are facts believe it or not.
I haven't upgrade my computer for 3 years, still running games at max over 60FPS + 2560 x 1440p resolutions. The first $1000 build PC back in 2009 is still running games at max and no parts are upgraded. PC don't need yearly upgrades and doesn't cost $5000.
If you see and think PC cost $2000, because you're looking at pre-built by Dell/HP over pricing product in retail store. A smart PC gamer would buy parts build it by themselves and keep it running for years. While looking at PS3 is now outdated and PS4 already hit the limit 60fps / 1080p. Buying a 4k TV plug into PS doesn't mean your PS4 is chucking out 4k pixels. Upscaled.
