Problems upgrading from ps3 to ps4

Hello! I recently bough a ps4 and wanted to upgrade my account from ps3. I was playing the standard version of ps3 and wanted to upgrade to the Collector's Edition when I began playing on ps4. So after setting up my new ps4 i went to the Playstation store and purchased the Collector's Edition for $49.99, then went to Mogstation to upgrade the account there and that's when I learned about the promotion going on where you can upgrade to ps4 for free then get the collector's edition for $19.99. So i called Square Enix for support and they told me to call Sony and ask for a refund on the $49.99 Collector's Edition. I went to Sony and they granted the refund and told me just to wait a few days for it to go through. It eventually did and so i purchased the $19.99 Collector's Edition via Mogstation and then i got my promo code and redeemed it through PSN and downloaded the game client. After it downloaded i started it up and went through the on-screen instructions and selected "I currently possess a Square Enix account" it then asked me to long in so i used the same login i used on the ps3 version. It then asked me to select a product to register to my account, and it displayed "FFXIV: A Realm Reborn - Collector's Edition PlayStation(R)4" so i tried to select it but nothing happens. It simply doesn't mark that i selected it and the only option from there is "Next" that proceeds to ask me to create a new service account where i will lose all my character data which is something i do NOT want to do. Am I missing something crucial? Or is this a common problem? Help!

So when you Log on to mog station what does it show on the active acct?

it says "Collector's Edition PS4"

OK it's on there try logging in on your PS4. If you have issues your may have to update registry on PS4.

The problem is when i log in on my ps4 and start up the game the whole registration doesn't work. It won't allow me to select the Collector's Edition and register it to my account. How do i update my registry?

Go to setting on PS4 go to PSN go to Restore License.

Didn't work :/ same problem, won't allow me to select the product to register it.

Do you have to register it ? It's showing on Mogstation so it should be set. You are using the same PSN for PS3 and PS4 right? Your registration follows your PSN info not the PS3 system itself so you shouldn't have to register it when you change systems.


Is your sub up? Sorry I had to ask this has been the case before.

How would i register it? Isn't that just using the promo code and downloading the game client? and yes I'm using the same PSN from ps3. Does it matter I bought a Collector's Edition from psn but had it refunded?

Ok I think we are missing a step. You had the PS3 version when you selected upgrade to PS4 it should have given you a code to enter in PSN. Then when you upgraded to Collectors edition it should have given you another code to receive you in game items for the collectors edition but first you have to enter the 1st code for switching systems.


Mogstation should have given you a code and I believe they email it also.
