Question about the patch coming up.

i heard so many rumors about they taking off base class? like let say as a Bard you no longer need archer as ur base class anymore. is that true? =/

I haven't seen anything about this. The three new jobs in Heavensward won't have base classes but I don't remember that meaning they're removing the other base classes.

Certainly nothing official has been said to suggest that will be the case. Anyone who says that is merely speculating. I, for one, hope they are correct though. The whole class/job system is merely a relic from 1.0 at this point, and serves no real purpose for the most part. I'd love to see Summoner and/or Scholar redone and split apart completely. The decision to introduce a bunch of jobs that have no classes would lead one to believe that the class system is being abandoned entirely. I mean, if we STILL have only one job per class (apart from arcanist), then what is the point of having classes AND jobs? We won't have a 2nd job for every class for years yet.

But remember, speculation. It's entirely possible the classes are there to stay, a constant reminder of a system that ultimately proved impractical.

You need any class at level 30 to unlock the new jobs.
So yes, there will be still classes.
