What I'm REALLY hoping for when Heavansward launches

Remember when ARR first launched? Lots of eligible people were denied their early access period or couldn't login for long periods due to login ques of thousands of people. Remember the frustration that was 3102?

I just hope a decent level of preparation has been made for the flood of players that'll be playing when the game launches and that the capable team running this game will be able to mitigate the effects of "heavy server load" and such.

That was when they didn't have server queues or character creation limitations.

I am sure we will run into some problems, but for the most part, it shouldn't be that bad.

There WILL be issues. Of that I can assure you.
The exact volume and nature of these issues will be up in the air though.

You will be able to, for about 10 minutes (maybe 20 on less populated servers) before it crashes and remains down for 10 hours then a notice is posted on the lodestone saying the servers will be down for emergency maintenance until the 23rd.

Even WoW had log in problems when WoD came. I am absolutely sure that we will run into some problems for about 2 days and I count with it..

No matter how solid the servers are, 100,000+ people all trying to slam their way into the game at once the second it goes live is gonna cause problems.

It can be considered as a DDOS.
Plus I have never seen an MMO that had no problems on headstart (including expansions).

Its hard to prepare for launch day. When they do game testing- its hard to see what may happen when thousands of people all try to log on at the same time. If your expecting a perfect launch, I'm here to tell you for sure your going to be disappointed. It is just the way it is not just for SE but for any gaming company. One thing I do expect is for SE to at least expand their server capacities, that should be a given, in fact its something that needs to be done now..

But you know what will happen. People will take off for work, expecting everything to go smooth than they will come on the forums complaining. Don't take off for work, its just a waste. Expect the first few days have some issues.

Probably won't even bother with 3.0 until the weekend after it launches.
