Also, how do you tell the difference between players and NPCs when chocobo racing?

search reddit for chocobo racing or chocobo breeding. that's a good start. as far as telling npc from players goes: look at the nameplates on the starting line-up. the NPCs and players have the same color names as NPCs and players in your world do (colors vary based on font color customizations).

not necessarily. in character config > display names, you can set the colors for all the names you see to anything you choose. in my case NPCs are default green but "other PCs" are white. that's why I answered that question the way I did; the colors could be anything a person chooses.
