So I have to make a new Square Enix account now but...

Okay, so apparently if you were a member of the old (and slightly confusing) Square Enix store (prior to February 17, 2015), you have to create a new account. I try and create a new account, I hit "Register" after filling in all the fields (correctly, I might add), aaaaaand.... Nothing happens. What the bloody freak gives?

The store is getting slammed with people preordering right now, so it just takes a little while after you click register. I got past that point, but then after I entered my address and other junk before checkout, it just hung up on that page and nothing ever happened. Gonna wait until later since I'm only going for the digital CE anyway.

Server congestion I imagine. It's being hammered by all the people attempting to purchase the CE.

I know it doesn't help now, but for the future, always check the website a day or two prior to trying to purchase a hot item so that you can make sure everything is up-to-date and prepared. Otherwise this happens.

Yeah, it just popped up saying that that email was already registered with them... Yeah, no duh, it was registered to your old store's website! I mean really, I have to create a new email so I can re-register? Square Enix... Why do you continue to make playing your games a weird, convoluted mess? I should look on the bright side I guess... At least I don't have to go through PlayOnline for FFXIV. *Shudders at the thought of having to go through that nightmare again.*

Nah that's BS, creating in advance, cause you know what? I can't even effing sign in to the site. I click login and it just sits there... does absolutely nothing. Then you try calling customer service and it rings and rings and rings, and then just says "The party is not answering, goodbye" and hangs up on you. You would have thought they would have predicted this for the site issues. These people are effing stupid

Yeah, clicking on the "sign in" button literally does nothing. It's like it's not even hooked up. The page doesn't even react.

It seemed to do nothing for me too, but after several minutes it finally signed me in. I dunno, stuff like this is fairly common with new games and expansions. Not saying it's any excuse, but everyone should have expected it anyway.

Did you guys above me have to create a new account or did it work with your old one? I really don't see the reason why I can't use the same email as I did for my old account when it was SE's choice to force players to create a new account for their new store (which is just an aesthetic upgrade, so I have no clue why they are making people create a completely new account to begin with).
