My boyfriend just finally completed our pre-order of the physical PC CE (I'm getting the digital, because we don't need two dragon statues...) after trying for over an hour, and getting kicked back to the cart several times.

I now have 2 emails and 2 orders last I checked on the account page.

Will ordering the $130 CE allow us to download Heavensward early? Obviously our physical copy won't arrive in time for us to play at early release time. I have the game of course, I'm speaking of the new zones/content.

The cart includes an early access code as a digital item, similar to how the release of ARR was handled. All indications point to "yes"

Hopefully, as I don't think I've ever installed a game via an actual disc. I played 1.0, Alpha, and Beta, so the program was already installed for 2.0. Not even sure my DVD drive works haha. I ordered the PS3 CE to attach to my 1.0 PC account and downloaded that as well. Don't think I even opened the discs.

Yes. In your confirmation email there is a link that will take you to a website that will give you a code that will allow you to get early access through the Moogle Station.

Yeah that's usually how it works....a couple days before early access begin you'll get an email saying early download is available.
Usually for a brand new game you get a link to the download client, but I don't know how will SE manage it....new client? or you will log in at ARR client like every day and it will start patching?
