Any knowledge on ps3 release date? the game is getting closer and closer to being ready IMO and when they add the achievements i think it would be ps3 ready...a lot of people would buy it for ps3 and play it even if its not fully "finished" because after patch 1.21 it will be a very fullfilling game.... i think they should think about releasing ps3 more people would join the game for sure.

They are going to do PS3, look at the bottom of this page.
There is no knowledge on a PS3 release date at this time.

Can we get a dev to at least give us what quarter of what year we can expect it in? A simple "Winter 2011" will work, or "Spring 2012". Something to give us hope >.>

There is no official date for PS3 release as yet, other than a comment from Yoshi stating that it IS coming.
Personally i think it would be foolhardy to release the game to PS3 until it is fully fledged, as a lot of sales will be resting on the PS3 release to rejuvinate the games playerbase.
If it is released to PS3 before it is totally ready, it could spell disaster for the games future, and i for one hope the future is bright

A lot of people have been asking for it, thousands.

The devs don't want to be locked into a release time frame as far as I can see.

The only problem, well, not -only- problem, but a major problem, is that the longer it takes, the further apart the divide between Old players and New players.
Eventually everyone's going to have multiple rank 50s and the zones will be empty again, because the rank 50s will power level their friends.

They would be smart to open new servers when the PS3 comes out so that players can decide if they want to start in a clean fresh world without hyper inflation and loads of 50s, or if they want to play on existing established servers.

My gut feeling says that the port of the game has long since been done, there just waiting to pull the trigger on the launch of it until the dust and debris from the rework is done.

It will be a long, long time, I expect end of next year at the earliest because FFXIV lacks way to much right now and compared to other competition it lacks a lot anyway, ps3 is not even a big market when you narrow it down for XIV so they cant release it just to make some people happy, they have everything betting on it and as a business they wont even tie it to just ps3, they will also advertise and mention the pc version and hope to get players there, so it shares the same audience that it has to compete for, and now, even 1.21 it will get kicked down.

I garauntee in the US you could make a PC that is far better than ps3 specs and play this game just fine, in UK probably, in Eurozone idk might be tough haha. Maybe 100 more.

Try June of next year if things go smooth, at the earliest, it's just an educated guess and likely a reasonable time to release it.

That would be start of q2 of their next fiscal year, which jives with the info in their investor report tied to future network gaming.
