    What’s next??

Hey every one, so I’m a lvl 50 bard and I just got my last book last night I’m thinking I should finish this book tonight or tomorrow depending on the stupid fates……. But my question is what comes next I have asked this question a lot in my FC and to other friends and I get a very general answer and I just don’t get it, i want know what it is that I’m going to have to do how to do it, I know everything is a lil diff for each class so if you can provide info for the bard that would be awesome.
    Thank you,
    Miko

The next stage is infusing a scroll with Materia. When you pick up the next quest the guy will tell you that you need 1 alexandrite for each scroll slot to infuse a Materia into it.
You can get Alexandrite from Fates with your newly upgraded relic, Allied Seals, and Alexandrite Maps for 400 tomes of Soldiery. You can also do a quest to get one free map a day by doing your daily Expert Roulette. You need 75 Alex in total per weapon.
As you collect your alex you can then start melding Materia into the scroll. You can max out 2 of the stats on the scroll if you wish this is usually seen as time consuming or very expensive.
When you start you will go thru the tiers of Materia so the first melds will be Materia I's and then move up from there.
I bonded all my Tier I's thru III's and some of my IV's but the last few i bought and spent about 8M.
Also the chance to break a materia goes up every time in each of the tiers. You do not lose your Alexandrite.

    Good Luck hope this helped.

It's actually not different for every job, it's the exact same. Even the books are the same if you need the same book for another job. Not every job has to complete the same set of books however, it depends on the stats your weapon uses.

Next step is alexandrite, the expensive step. You need to collect 75 alexandrite using fates/treasure maps for 400 soldiery/200 allied seals. You also need to collect various tier 1-4 materia (generally pick 2-3 stats, 2 stat builds get very expensive but are generally bis, 3 stat builds are cheaper and still good). Use alexandrite to infuse materia into your scroll (can't lose alexandrite to failure but can fail and lose the materia). Once you're finished infusing 75 materia into your scroll you're on to the next step.

The next step is nexus light, you simply need to do stuff and you will be rewarded 4+ light depending on what you're doing and whether there is a bonus. You need 2000 light total so it takes a while but there is no rng aside from bonus windows for light.

After that it's grinding dungeons for rng drops, followed by more light farming.

Lots of gil, soldiery, allied seals, and time. Don't bother with fates and don't try to solo the maps. Bring a buddy. Spam hunts if you want it done quickly. And spirit bond gear if you can for extra gil and possible tier IVs.

After making 3 relics myself and talking to some members of my static that have also made 3+, I can safely say that the books are always exactly the same no matter what class they're for. It doesn't matter at all what primary and secondary stats you use; you get the same set of books. Between us, we've made relics for every class except monk/rogue and the books have always had the same nine sets of mobs/leves/fates/dungeons.

Your ideal build would be maxed crit and det. It won't be cheap because that's what most classes use. Not just DPS classes, either. Even tanks are on the crit/det train these days. Remember that you can change the build on your weapon later. You could always do a three stat build now so that you can progress to the next stage of your relic and then tidy it up into a two stat build later when you have money/materia. You do have to get another sphere scroll and you would need more alexandrite to infuse the new materia, but I honestly found it to be worth it.

As for your concern with your DPS, assuming equal gear/skill a bard will always have the lowest damage of any DPS class. You do have powerful support skills though; bards are nigh indispensible for endgame raiding.
