Yoshi said no.
True, but I recall him justifying it that i130 gear is still pretty high for the beginning of the expansion. By that I'm assuming it will last quite a bit into the leveling process. So they don't want to invalidate all of the 50+ leveling gear.
I might be wrong but i think i read that it will be abolished with 3.0. They already mentioned that i130 gear will bring you a long part of the road to 60 and that the i135 weapons will be viable until you get close to the new relic/alexander weapon. I could imagine them being the new philosophy (i70 back at start) to get you to an i130+ base until you get geared with i150 (or whatever i we will get from alexander/new tomes)
Personally i wish they would remove it like, right now, so i can gear all my classes and wont have to bother while i level to 60, but meh, in the end they will all be 130 and when 3.1 or 3.2 hits old gear will be accessible way easier anyways - after all we are threding in a gearmill ^^

It's not doing anyone any favours at the moment. When everyone's already capped a day or two after the reset, it ruins the motivation for already-geared people to subject themselves to expert/trials roulette. Like, I know they want to stop gear inflation getting out of hand, but we're firmly in the end-of-expansion wash-up period now, everybody's just trying to get their house in order before 3.0 hits, and uncapping poetics would be a positive move in terms of encouraging people to do more content more often.
Eh. I'm working on my 3rd and 4th classes right now (MNK and BLM) because my PLD/WAR and SCH are done.Personally i wish they would remove it like, right now, so i can gear all my classes and wont have to bother while i level to 60, but meh, in the end they will all be 130 and when 3.1 or 3.2 hits old gear will be accessible way easier anyways - after all we are threding in a gearmill ^^

It's not hard if you do a mix of Dreadwyrm and Ironworks.
kind of same, done with sch pld war, but the rest, all this time i only got to buy 1 piece for my blm and no dread drops cause i can't use need , if any thing drop i try greed and usually loose. my blm is like 113 i can't even enter the pf parties cause they demand 120 now. it's funny i wanted to enter a t9 party other to help some randoms in pf, they even demanded 130 for t9, like really?
so, how i am going to gear my other jobs, this game is meant to play multiple classes rigtht?
Yes, but i don't raid - 4 shift work and general not wanting to bother with it. I'm gearing my third class atm, BLM/NIN are fully equipped and PLD will be done when 3.0 is released and the first to 60. I just hope poetics drop like crazy in every content we get from 51-60 so we can get stuff for crafting/equipping fast ^^
Greed parties. Go on your best geared class into a pick 2 party. When we run ours, we usually limit it to 2 people per item (so you don't end up with six people all fighting over the same drop while almost everything else is FFA).
Ahh, I see. Honestly, I'd sooner take some of the Demon gear and crafted gear over some of the Ironworks. Then again, some of the Dreadwyrm stuff is pretty bad too. It's pretty easy to get through 10 and 11 now (assuming you've got a T9 clear, that is) so you can pick up a fair amount of decent pieces without too much problem.Yes, but i don't raid - 4 shift work and general not wanting to bother with it.
