Limited Copies Reserved only for Europe. Reasoning?

I am confused as to why SE took something with limited copies, but made it so that only one region can get them. NA does not even get to pre-order CE until half a day after EU . . . and when the sales go live over here, there will already be so few copies left I am certain I will not be able to get one.

That is . . . well . . . if our store works. i hear EU is having one hell of a headache right now with a buggy launch in their store (something about baskets being empty after the customers add them). That has me on edge also.

EDIT: Okay so I did not consider the physical copies being regional, due to the game disk being included as well. I thought the entire world was drawing from the same pool of product and that was what had me frustrated. Gods I hope they work out their bugs before our sales go live. I am setting my alarm to wake up in the middle of my "night" for this preorder.

The EU store is not buggy it's down for good there is a constant maintenance and we didn't even have a chance to buy it yet.

As far as I know, the copies are regional. So you should have a chance at a NA copy, unless you need a EU copy due to your initial registration being with a EU code, since you play on a EU server?

On a side note, America is NOT hated by the rest of the world, and I am sorry to hear you feel that way. Stuff like that should be kept out of the forums. It can only get toxic.

I cannot even remember how I got my code initially. I think I am using an NA code come to think of it. But, I had to face-palm at myself because I thought the SALES were regional. So the physical copies are different somehow? Is it the PAL vs. NTSC (did I even get that right?) stuff that console players have to deal with? And I think PC players have to deal with this as well on some older machines, though we can get drives that can read both regions. I am unsure if they have stuff like that for console players also. I just re-looked at their list of goodies in CE and i guess there indeed IS a disk included with the game on it. I thought physical CE was just eye candy and we'd have to download the game via the client like I did when i originally bought the game.

And you are right - I edited my post and took out the "people hate america" remark because politics belong on blogs, not gaming forums. Just frustration and watching WAY too much CNN pried in there.

But wow . . . that Facebook update . . . not a good outlook for our launch either. If I lived in the EU I'd be furious right now. Especially for those who wanted to reserve their copy before work/school/war/etc.

Nothing like the old "PAL/NTSC" hardware restriction.
In that case, it's just that the licences codes for every version is region-locked. In short terms, you can't use a EU version with a NA/JA account and every other combination.

Also, currently, every SE store from NA and EU are down. Nobody can pre-order anything.

Edit: My bad, NA is up but no preorder available. Only EU is down.

It is not related to the server OP play. it is related to the SE account. If OP pay in $ then it is a NA account and a NA box of the game is needed.

Incorrect.

There's only 3 region codes, NA, JP & Worldwide. The region codes are tied not to the region you live in, but the region your account is registered in. North American SE accounts will need the NA copy - JP accounts need JP accounts. You can live in Japan and still use an NA account.

Worldwide however, covers ALL of the Oceanic Region, Africa, the whole of Europe and a majority of Asia.
