FFXIV Linkshells

Walking through Ul'dah i noticed a group of characters huddled together with the same LS icon hanging out doing emotes having fun, this made it seem like it was their corner of the street, i quickly notice that these groups are scattered about usually consisting of 2-5 characters. I love the feel this gives to the city with everyone kind of having their turf.

I don't know how it is on your server, but I have a feeling this exists on many servers not just my own.

Could it be possible to have this area of the game expanded on, maybe having LS compete over each other for various reasons (Turf maybe?) Or opening up LS carts in which players within the LS could sell items?

Or any other ideas you may have...

Lol Hiir. There have already been turf wars on our little corner of Ul'dah on Fabul server. But since there is really no way to do anything we would just /sit on each other. Yeah...it's lame.

yep and people seem to "respect" a LS spot once it has been claimed.. My linkshell has our spot we usually have anywhere from 2-15+ hanging out AFKing there, and you very very rarely see another person from another LS come and AFK in that spot.. Its quite cool I like it

They gave up when they heard I was returning to FFXIV. They knew it was futile to try and withstand my awesome Shadowsear powers.

Yeah I've played on Besaid, Mysdia, and full time Lindblum. Every LS has a specific spot they group up at... except mine lol

all i can think of is maybe what tera is doing, they have politics in the game. basic gist i think is everything in game gives u points towards it from killing mobs to pvp. also votes are held by all, also can get kicked. there was a thread about it somewhere in ffxiv forums though and didn't really sit well ...but this can easily add rewards of positions in city, also can create some fun rivalry. but any who here is a link of everything bout the tera one, but i dont think we will see anything like it. http://www.terafans.com/topic/3924-b...itics-in-tera/

it actually sounds pretty fun but again with this game giving people the choice to bitch i don't think the majority want something that they probably will never see the day of winning.

Our spot is near Rowena, beside the Bric-a-Brac. Sometimes I see a few random stragglers hanging there crafting or something. I think they just don't realize what's going on though lol they see a group and just go "oh okay *park butt*"

Weird how in 6 years of XI, I don't think I ever saw this with any LS lol. Maybe because there were better things to do then stand in town all day
