just goes to show doesn't it when others can list them for so much cheaper...

From what little I know, it's standard practice that retailers get around 30% of the price of the game, so yeah, there is a big margin to make discounts. As to why doesn't SE themselves sell the game cheaper too, the most likely reason is that if they did that retailers would refuse to stock the game.
