They can sell it at that price, so they will. Just like they won't put it up to $200 in the US because they know it wouldn't sell for that.
Prices are determined by what they believe people in whatever region will pay for the product, because that is more than any mark up they would put on it based on the costs.

It sucks, but that's the way things go. The only power the consumer has is to not pay for it, which would then cause them to reconsider the next pricing model.
