Well, here's hope for people who are still waiting: after waiting for 1 hour and 47 minutes, I was finally able to check out! Amazing!!

So much time wasted for something that will probably be trivially easy to order tomorrow... <Good luck!> :-p

The EU store seems to have the right idea: shut down the store, actually fix it so that it works under load, and then let people know (with sufficient advance warning) the time that they can sign on and actually order the thing quickly without stress or uncertainty of waiting in a potentially endless DF queue.

NA store was like "well.... it's not actually completely dead.... so let's let it keep limping along."

NA: Uh, hasty touch, maybe you'll get lucky?
EU: Steady hand 2, basic touch.

You forgot to leave out the part of us not getting information about them postponing until like 11 or 12 hours later. Which I'd say is even worse than shutting it down or leaving it up in a limping state. We do like our information as buyers of their products.

So you're saying that EU went on sale 11 hours earlier (GMT) than NA (wow, really?! that's nice!) except that it also didn't work and they shut it down without any information until 11 hours had passed? I agree - that does sound bad.

I guess the people who lucked out were those who forgot about the sale and will be reminded when they get an e-mail about the time that the store will actually be fixed.

Awwh, look at all the NA people complaining about a measly $20 shipping fee(which, FYI is an obvious cost of how much it would cost to ship such a large item) and all of us in EU are having to pay $192 for CE Heavensward.

$20 shipping? I paid $8. With it being ordered so very far in advance I would think it should arrive on time regardless.

Agreed, see NA people shouting in victory for beating the loading screen boss for 2 hours or so. We're still battling here! NA doing the hard mode while EU gets Extreme mode stuff here with the extra hard Extreme by adding on the stupid pricetag...

Meanwhile AUS/NZ are being shoved into Savage mode with a permanent amnesia+silence debuff... never to be able to complete it....

It wont happen, but I can only dream that SE wil add AUS/NZ as countries they deliver to for the EU online store...

Hmm, perhaps the EU shipping and tax/VAT is worse, which could end up like:

$130 + $30 shipping + $32 tax (20% of $162?) = $192

Expensive to be sure, but the hours of fun per (dollar/pound/euro) should still be pretty good I hope!!
