    RMT Out of hand

OK so the RMT friend request scum are out in force today on Coeurl and it's getting ridiculous. 4 seperate ones within 15 minutes earlier today, then another 2 just aftwr reporting the first batch. Logging on again tonight, another 4 within half an hour. This needs to be dealt with NOW
They have been employing this tactic for long enough that SE should have already implemented a right click/square to report RMT that logs the relevant info on said character and automatically places them on a separate blacklist from your personal one.
The method of reporting these pieces of excrement is convoluted to say the least, and all you ever get in return is a cut and paste response telling you how to to blacklist (like none of us knows how to do that, because this is such a rare occurrence right?), or how to remove them from your blacklist (another unecessarily painstaking process)
Rest assured, SE takes this kind of behaviour seriously and is taking steps to combat it. Yeah right, the players who post on the forum have already given square a solution, yet months on this is STILL a huge problem on some servers.

Sort it out SE it's gone on way beyond long enough.

I agree with this, as I'm sure thousands (millions?) of other players do as well. I'm sure Square Enix is "doing their best" to handle RMT... so maybe they should hire different staff to deal with them, then? Because It's upsetting so many players... RMT is becoming a worse issue than it was previously. I WOULD report them if it was simple, but I need to A) Find the menu. B) write down the date, time, server, world area, etc. for this occurance, and C) Lose all of my information because I need to scroll back up to find out what the character's name was to report, since it closes my RMT report window. D) Spend like 10 minutes trying to report this one person E) After I'm done reporting that one person, I get another RMT /tell and have to report THEM.

By the time I'm done reporting these guys, they've already deleted their characters, anyway. -_- I may be simple-minded, but why can't these gold-selling websites be shut down? Seriously. It would make so many people HAPPY.

Just give me a way to block incoming friend requests and I will be happy. Can anyone tell me if busy status will do that? I know it stops the tells, but those gil sellers are getting obnoxious with the friend thing - I've had ten in just a short space of time today.

Yes it would. The problem is that many of these RMT sites are based in countries where the law just doesn't give a damn. In fact, some are probably government supported. A form of corporate sabotage with a little money made on the side.

    I've been reporting all RMTs...

I've been reporting all RMT tells I've gotten for the past two weeks. On average, it is about 16 a day. This takes forever.

What would be nice: right click a tell, mark is at RMT

I know SE is doing their best but PLEASE set up a competent task force to fix this problem.

Actually if you see the forums the RMT people frequent ( yes they have their own forums ) most are 15 - 24 year old American or EU males.

I would kill for this feature, as well, at the very least, a temporary "muting" of the offending RMT that lasts as long as I am logged onto the character that made the report. WoW has a similar feature and it does make things convenient. As it is, it oft takes me awhile to be able to report the offending RMT spammer after blocking them.

Most likely because they're hosted in countries outside the legal jurisdiction of Japan and the US.

Everyone in the Zalera world is getting fed up with RMT as well, people have been shouting complaints all day as we have been receiving what feels like non stop tells, friend requests, and mail to the point where many of us have come to a point of rage that has made us contemplate going as far as petitioning Square Enix for them to actually crack down on all RMT.

/busy does indeed block friend requests.

I didn't know /busy would block this, I may have to do this. But seriously, most of Coeurl server have either turned their /tell chats or have gone into /busy status. When majority of a server resort to this, you have a problem. Yesterday, friend requests were out of control, it has elevated to an extreme level.

Yes, it's a problem that needs to be constantly addressed daily. They release all of these updates but nothing is being done to dealt with these RMTs.
