Pre-ordering Heavensward with a PAL account from abroad

Hello.

I am an Australian living in Japan. My Square Enix account and FFXIV account are both PAL region. Due to my location, importing a physical copy is not something I'm interested in doing. Instead, I was looking to purchase a digital collectors edition from the EU Square Enix store.

To my surprise, the website is region locked and doesn't service IP addresses outside of the PAL domain.

This is a very big problem as I can imagine I am not the only person who has this situation at hand.

What can be done about this? I want to play Heavensward but there's no real way for me to participate if the game is unavailable for purchase.

Extra information: Websites such as Amazon.co.uk, greenmangaming among others also use the same region locking as the SE store. I think we need an exception for this.

Which region is your account based in? I'm assuming Europe, given the PAL status and the fact you're trying to order from the EU SE Store. If so, any download from an EU site should work have you tried the other Amazon domains (.fr,.es,.de etc) or German sites? You could also use an IP changer just for the short period required to order, and then again at download.

Oceania players are really screwed over by FFXIV. =(
