Why is the Alps striking dummy so called?

Is there an area in the game called the Alps or is this a bit of an odd choice for its name?

Alps probably relates to Coerthas the way Riviera relates to Limsa, Oasis to Ul'dah, and Glade to Gridania.

Yeah I figured that, but riviera/glade/oasis are all standard words, not necessarily related to specific places. Alps is an Earth place, not an Eorzea place. It'd be weird if the game had French toast instead of La Noscean toast.

I hardly think this is a big issue btw, it occurred to me yesterday and I just thought it was strange.

It's more of a cultural shorthand, since you can riviera/oasis/glade clothes at the Gold Saucer.

I wonder what Ala Mhigo and Dravanian architecture/outfitting would be called.
