I have 2 accounts on my account. 2 full cd keys were entered and when I log on it ask me which account im trying to access. So I had a friend that wanted to try this game and told him hey I have an extra account on my account that you could use. When he logs on it says this bs.

I could understand if he lived in a different state. Hell I could understand if he lived in a different city, but not down the danm block. Wth is the point in having 2 accounts linked to 1 if you cant even use both accounts. The real funny thing is it says that even if he trys to log in first. Which means if I try to log into my account from any computer outside my house it suspends my account. Come on SE I doubt there are people waisting there time hacking FFXIV accounts.

it's a simple protection system, it suspected that your account might have been hacked so it wants you to confirm that that's you & it wants you change the password.

Go change the password & give it to your friend.

Well one you shouldn't be mad since they are trying to protect your ***. Secondly he'll only have to do it once from that IP address. Chances of someone hacking into your account living close to you is rare but you really should be happy that SE is doing everything they can to protect your goods. FFXI didn't have this protection for the longest time and many got hacked and SE tried to blame the customers for everything till they came up with the recovery system which was way to late.

He has 2 FFXIV account linked to the same SE account, but when his friend logs on the second one from down the street it locks them both out. Its a security system that tries to aid ppl from falling victom to RMT attacks. If you log into FFXIV from a different IP then your usual one it might flag you as a intruder instantly locking your account.

Some people (like my friend) either has a second or third account for duoing with another pc/laptop or their spouse to keep things simple and easy to remember.

already tryed changing the password and giving the new password to him 3 times now. everytime he even attempt to log on it pops that message. Funny thing is I use to play my account at his house about 4 months ago. Now all the sudden I cant log on in any computer thats not my own. I understand security issue but this is crazy. Never even seen a mmo or any online game where I couldnt play it at a friends house. Now keep in mind I do understand the flagging of account where one person logs in and 10 mins later another person from a completly different part of the world logs in cause it would be impossable for that to be you, but right down the street thats taking it to the extreme for a already dieing game.

I have 2 account linked to one because of a mistake I made so was trying to make use of that mistake. Have a friend that bought the collectors edition and gave me the buddy pass. Well stupid me thought the buddy pass was a temp thing so after 1 month I decided I would go head a buy the game. Bought it linked it to my account then call SE to see how to get my char to the new account and they broke the news to me saying the buddy pass was the real game and I didnt have to buy another copy. CD key was already entered into my account and game opened so I couldnt return it. So basicly I waisted 49.99 (was how much it was going for second month it was out) and cant even use it.
