    System crash after character selection!!

Away from game for few months, thought I login and checkout 1.18 but I can't seem to pass character selection. After I select my character and wait for game to load my screen will turn off automatically but computer still on. I opened my computer and every thing seems to be working ok and all the fans are still working, so I don't think it is overheating. I was able to play the game since beta and haven't had any problems until now. Anyone has any idea?

Could you describe your problem in more detail? What do you mean with your screen turning off? Do you only lose the picture or does the whole system crash into a black screen?

You do not outright say so, but from what you are posting, you are getting BSOD with error 116?

Download and do a clean install of the newest WHQL drivers for your video card.

my whole system crash into a black screen. I'm also getting a no signal message from my monitor. but my computer didn't reboot, it remains on and I had to manually reboot the computer and i would get that problem event message from windows.

Your problem seems to be related to your videocard/driver, so you might have a bad driver install, which would hopefully be fixed by choosing Clean Install when updating the drivers.

You might want to update your DirectX just to make sure that is not corrupted either, but it does point to your videocard/driver.

your processor is in the light end, ffxiv is cpu heavy. Id try to overclock that to 2.8(prob have to upgrade cpu cooler) or buy a new cpu around 3.0 or higher depending on budget(if you board will handle it)

oh, and check your power supply unit, prob wanna be around 450-600 watts for that card

Whats weird is that I was able to play since beta until patch 1.16. This is so frustrating. I'll keep trying different solutions that I saw on other posts on random crashing, but please if anyone has any suggestions please let me know I'll give anything a try.
Syntaxlies, I guess if I'll else fails I'll have to upgrade, but I can't shake the feeling that its something simple that i'm missing.
