Pro tip: Tell me you're new to a dungeon /rant

No, I am not psychic. No, I don't assume that because you're poorly geared that you are new. No, the message at the beginning does not tell me that there are multiple new people.

Yes, you should have responded when I asked in the beginning who's new.

If you do not tell me you're new; expect a speed run and understand that I expect you to understand the dungeon.

Now, tell me that you're new and I will ALWAYS pull slowly and I'll make sure you don't get lost.

LOL so true like 95% of the time if you try to run a speed run with someone completely new and with no up top date gear for the dungeon level... the run will be uber slow. The only exception is when you at least got a SUPER DPS... one of those super OP that can take hate easy from a well gear tank, in which case the low dps of the new person wont matter much.

Speed runs are unfortunately the way everyone does things now, no matter the party composition. It's hilarious seeing a tank grab massive amounts of mobs with a scholar, monk, and dragoon in party and expect them to go down as fast as a white mage with double black mages.

However, I do find it annoying when players who are new to a duty refuse to speak up. I see this more common in extreme Primal battles than dungeons though.
Most of the time it goes like this: Party gets the bonus soldiery message.
Player asks: "Who is new?" (No response) Okay everyone knows fight, just haven't cleared yet.
Player pulls boss, group wipes to a basic mechanic. Now we wasted time spent that could have been used explaining a simple mechanic.

Not true. People do run alts, that will give that same message.

actually theres quiet a big reason for alts. You can only get 450 poetics a week, with alts you can gear up more. I assume you can do raids with alts even if you have completed them with your main. So yeah there are big reasons to run alts'

Then there are other reasons, like there are many different races you can play, and you cant be all races on the same character so then you will be needing alts as well.

On all and any straightforward cases, where you just need heal or dps or tank'n'spank and avoid telegraphs, does not.

There are cases on which some hint on some role will help avoid wipes, anyway. See the healer on Cutter's Cry princess, or the tank swaps, and things alike.

Anyway, if system says there is new people, I assume there is new people unless they tell me they are not. I will not ask, because some times people does not even understand english so cannot reply.

This is why I would like to know if there's newbie in the group and who it is. We all want dungeons to go fast and smoothly.
