Just because they're not the ones that chose the maintenance doesn't mean they're not participating in it. Someone still has to watch the servers while the ISP guys do their work.
I am not sure what business experience that drew you to that conclusion but companies choose their own maintenance period. If their ISP is forcing this then Square Enix as a company can switch ISP's just like any other customer. This means their ISP isn't going to lose that business so that will accommodate Square Enix's maintenance windows. This is assuming that it is related to their ISP which they did not state in the maintenance notification.Think about it for a little. According to the Lodestone post, we may still be able to play during the maintenance. So that means the maintenance isn't being done on the servers themselves. Then, what's being worked on? Answer: The network and routing TO the servers. That's not owned by SE. Thus, they can't control when their ISP decides to do maintenance like this. Lay the blame off SE because they likely never had a hand in the maintenance time frame - all they could do is warn us that it's going to happen.
Please provide any research or evidence that you have or that Square Enix has posted in regards to this being an ISP maintenance?

You present yourself as a fan boi. Someone who defends something without any researched information or posting by the actual company in question. You are so determined that you are right that you present your guess as fact. Reminds me of Apple customers who defend Apple just because they own an iPhone.
