being an Australian on the Odin server, this is going to be a complete nightmare. From here, pings/latency is always worse to UK/europe than to NA, and NA/canada is already 250ms. 3 days downtime? They had better ensure we get to choose a different server (without all the moving server penalties like losing housing, restricting gil amounts, paying real $$$) for those NOT in Europe who are only going to be adversely affected by this change.

You won't get to keep your house of you transfer, they won't kick someone else out of theirs so you can keep yours. Its been known for awhile that they were looking into moving the EU servers to an actual EU datacenter, not sure why someone from Australia would pick an EU server to begin with really. Not much you can do at this point though.being an Australian on the Odin server, this is going to be a complete nightmare. Australians were encouraged onto EU/NA servers by SE, I've been on the same one since beta. It's the same reason we are included with the EU lodestone, mogstation, etc it's all "PAL" countries. There were no EU servers to choose from anyway, they were all in NA so it was a moot point at the time.
I don't know how they are planning to handle any of this so will reserve judgment. I doubt there is a single player out there who would like to be told their latency has just had 100-150ms added through no fault of their own, and the only possible fix is to pay for a server transfer, and take the associated penalties that come with such a transfer.

SE recommended to choose the datacenter with the best ping. Why have you not chosen a JP server like Tonberry or Masamune, the servers with the most australian players?
I got the idea from them at the time they didn't want english speakers on JP servers. It was almost 2 years ago and I was obviously brand new doing the beta, so hindsight isn't particularly useful now. This isn't about me in particular though - NA players on these servers won't be taking the increase to their pings lightly, and there are hoards of those people.
Since I got my laptop checked ping...0.212s checked ping to London 0.045s and Germany 0.065 eu server base yez please
This ping especially in pvp just kills it for me, no wonder I can never dodge those cometoer stacks despite being half the fecking map away from them...

This should have happened two years ago. I've been paying for a Tunnel service to get an acceptable latency, but it's still not below 100. Without it, I've never been able to do Titan HM/EX without flying off the platform. Not once.
I don't think it's right that we have to pay a double subscription to get a comparable experience in PVE content to what NA has. If it's not happening with Heavensward, then for the love of god, make it a priority and push it out ASAP.
