I think he might be worried about what they said in the live letter (from a Reddit thread).

Please note that users that play FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn on Steam will need to purchase the Steam version of FINAL FANTASY XIV: Heavensward.

If that's the case the people who purchased the Steam version are SOL when it comes to getting the physical copy of the CE.

Guess that means I won't be playing via Steam anymore. I originally purchased the physical edition, then bought it on Steam and gave the key to someone else so I could install and play via Steam. I guess I could just do that again, but I probably just won't.

There is ABSOLUTELY no reason why we should have to jump through these hoops.
