Why Nerf the SP Points on Crafting?

SE recently nerfed SP points gained from crafting...I don't think it needed to be nerfed..I mean getting 700 sp per successful synth that is 5+ ranks above your current rank should be reasonable..now I get around 300 sp per successful synth that is 5+ above my current rank...that's a harsh nerf!

They nerfed the bonus you got while doing crafting leves, not all crafting SP.

the crafting leves after the initial boost was too much, sp was flowing like no tomorrow, this just balanced it a bit better

They didn't nerf it that much. I got 900+ on a BSM synth on a rank 30 leve at 26 the other day. I'm fine with the balancing they did.

From a different stand point though, if you rarely crafted outside of leves, the bonus was great. It gave a few thousand more points than you would have gotten otherwise. Now they're even less tempting to do. At rank 32 alchemist the leves just aren't worth it anymore particularly when the highest rank one I get per rotation is rank 25. That's about 100 sp per synth, for 6 synths. Lower the rank, and it's closer to 90 for about 4-5.

I guess what I'm saying is if you wanna risk the randomness of guild points then go for it. But from the SPing perspective, it's a total bust and I completely agree.

In the case of lower Ranked leves I typically burn through the leve to see if I get any Guild Points. Hasty Hands is great for this. The new setup is much better as you are now rewarded for attempting a more difficult Synthesis with alot more SP. Relying solely on Local Leves for Leveling is not a great idea at higher ranks anways as you don't have the volume of crafts to do. You should look more into getting stacks of mats to level off of and improve your crafting skills.

I do rely alot on crafting leves and I think that Judge Xero's statement is very valid for me, however due to playtime limitations I'm stuck on doing crafting leves atm..I would try to explore crafting skillups outside leves later on to see how it is myself..thanks for the feedback guys!

With the current system of being able to choose Crafting leves as opposed to rely on luck before, the SP nerf on crafting leves was neccesarry. I was getting 1k SP for leves that were 3-5 ranks above my current rank...now I can choose such Leves almost every reset, and not just one, but 2-3...the SP gained through leves is supposed to give players not grinding a reasonable amount of SP and still see progress. Getting 1k+ SP per synth is not reasonable anymore.

You need to check around all three cities frequently for r30 and r35 local leves, they are quite spread out actually. For instance I tend to get 2 r30 BSM in Uldah while LL give 3-4 r25. For r40, r45 and r50 they are more frequently available at the city with guild IF you meet the requirement. Don't forget the rank requirement.

Leve craft not only use 0 shards and materials, it also give you more materials and gil, so it should't be tat good with SP too. or someone will make a plan to craft leveling by leve alone as main.
