Question about Heavensward Box

so i am pre-ordering the Collector's Edition of Heavensward, i have never pre-order anything online and well my question is this.

since im pre-ordering online, when will i be getting the box?

will i be getting a code to apply on my account so i can play the expansion before i get the box or will i have to wait for the box to arrive so i can use the expansion?

cause the early access is on June 19 and the game launches on June 23 PLS help clear my doubt

Back when ARR came out, you were given an early access code, so no you won't have to wait for the box.

I'm sure it will be no different with Heavensward.

Just confirmed this after finding my early access code for ARR in my e-mail.

Square-Enix is usually pretty good about getting your item on the day of launch; now what time of the day depends on the delivery person's route of course.

For arr they gave you a code to DL the game on psn then when you got your box you had to put in the registration code. The game only worked I think for 2 weeks if I remember right without registration code from box. PC had something similar to I believe .

I'm pretty sure they gave people a bit of a grace period during the ARR launch to account for shifting delivery times. As to the preorder, they have a preorder website so more than likely like ARR, they'll give you a code to put in to a website that gives you a code to apply to your account.

The early access code worked like this back when 2.0 launched. After you pre-ordered you got all your pre-order codes, which included your EA code. Once you entered it in, and Early Access started you got to play until launch, when launch started from the day of launch you had 7 full days thanks to the EA code to get your actual physical serial number input into your account before the EA code stopped working. The EA code was the entire game in it's fullest as well.
