I'll be switching to male Au Ra if they aren't as tall as Elezen. I don't want people to think I'm related to a giraffe.

They do look really tall, but their build looks more filled out. The fact that they're so thin is what kind of turns me off Elezen. I just don't find their lanky builds aesthetically pleasing at all. :x

Yeah, they look really tall. Can't wait for the benchmark thing next month. If they're too tall, I'll probably end up playing a female one instead. Those shoulders though...

I'll consider going female Au Ra as well, if the males are a disappointment.

Even if they're grossly tall, I'm sure they'll look fine. But I still wont play them. I think a lot of healers go human or cat because healing giraffe's/giant muscle men aren't very appealing. They just feel/look wrong to me. I wouldn't mind if there was a choice to be regular (human) height or super tall. As long as there was a choice.

The only reason why miqo'te are so popular is because they're just humans with cat ears, tails and the option for slit eyes/ fanged teeth. It's exotic without being too much.

I always try to play the most human looking race, but female highlanders were too manly, and the way midlanders run is too ridiculous...

Out of the four races the Miqo'te is the only one most people will bother with.

Edit: I totally forgot that there are Elves in this game. They are a rarer sight that my level 30 White Mage's Unicorn!

But...we have 5 races. With a 6th on the way.
Also, that unicorn is insanely popular. Anyone who plays WHM has one, and anyone who likes horses raises CNJ to 30 just to get one.
I see a LOT of elves, lalafell, and hyur running around. Miqo'te are common, but they don't overshadow all the other races in terms of population like some people seem to believe. They're just the most visually distinctive aside from Lalafell (though ALL the races are pretty distinctive) so you're more likely to notice them at a quick glance.
