    It's a matter of making sure no single character model takes up too much memory. If I had to guess, the RAM taken up by the ear/tail texture is roughly equal to the RAM taken up by the "muscle-slider" normal map used by other races, give or take a few hundred kilobytes. Catboys and catgirls get special ears and a tail, less-demanding races get body texture variation.

    Male Miqo'te are locked to where I would've set the muscle slider anyway (~80), so it never really bothered me.

    Hmm maybe. Honestly I'd like it for my female Miqo'te as well. Her skinny arms bother me to no end when I'm swinging around this enormous sword/axe like a crazy woman. It's not as bad since I wear full armor, but still... >.<

    And this is why I hope they drop support for the PS3 someday, the fact that the PS3 is holding the game back so much is unacceptable imo.
