This. I tried Elezen, Highlander, Roegadyn (Male & Female) and they just move incredibly awkwardly for me. Midlanders don't have aggressive/expressive enough body posture for me so they're out too...

Lalafell are fun but they're sooo short that unless I was hanging out with other Lalafell friends it was like half my emotes/gear went unnoticed (even by me) so I keep going back to Miqo'te because it checks all the boxes.

Back in Beta, there was a lot of backlash over how "weightless" the running animations are. I was playing a cat from the get-go, so I never understood until I actually tried the other races out.

The animators had entirely too much fun with the male Miqo'te. While the females are the glamourous, sexy catgirl wet-dream of teenage boys everywhere, the males fit the lazy/playful/claw up your furniture/walk across your keyboard cat aesthetic to a T.

As a 3D art enthusiast I'm pretty critical of animation and visual effects. I have to say it's the Race's walk/run animations that we are all subconsciously drawn to and plays a large factor

Main reason why I went Miqo'te, the more natural animations than the others, the rest just look.... off. Elezaan heads are too small, Roe, I'm not into muscles. Lolafails are just creepy, and walk with no knees XD TBH the 1.0 Lolafails animations where better. Hyur running animations are just too fragile looking.

Miqos anims are just right.

Miqo'tes = flat butts. The males are especially flat. It's a shame. The bootylicious vibe is dead in FFXIV.

Then again 3.0 we'll probably see mostly horny Horned geckos.

I'm not playing a miqo'te because I have dignity.

How the hell can you say that with a straight face when playing a lalafell? I would give you ANY OTHER RACE, but being a lalafell excludes you from talking about dignity.

As for my personal beliefs on the matter:

Hyur is boring because we're already just like them IRL.

Elezen is also boring, because what fantasy game DOESN'T have elves? It's like, "Hey guys, we need races for this new fantasy game." "How about humans?" "Yeah, people are boring like that." "How about elves?" "THAT WAS IN THE ORIGINAL DESIGN BEFORE HUMANS."

Roegadyn...do I even need to say anything? The only good roegadyns are the ones I don't see. Ugh.

Lalafell...I don't need Chris Hansen coming to my door and asking me to take a seat. I need *something* to look at.
