I don't support asking first-timers to watch cutscenes after the fact for most story content. Events at the Praetorium, for example, make little sense without them.

While I have zero patience for players who want to stop and smell the roses for the hundredth time, I do have patience for first-timers.

As do I. they can spend a full hour watching the cutscenes for all I care. Their choice. It doesn't really affect the rest of the team.

What does affect the rest of the team is those who spend even half as long as that, and demand the rest of the party do jack squat waiting for them. One or the other, people.

There's no simple solution, as I have to agree that no single person's time is more important than anyone else's.

Personally I'm inclined to wait for new people and allow them to experience both cutscenes and gameplay, but if the party insists on moving ahead, that's a valid choice.

However, I do think that it makes for a better community to help new players have a good experience, so it's always my hope that parties will choose to accommodate new players to a reasonable degree (if it takes them 5 min to watch what should be a 30 sec cutscene, that's an imposition and not reasonable).
