Why can boss fights be started while first-timers are watching the cutscene?

Again, for the first-timer, I fully support allowing them those extra 30 seconds to 1 minute to view their scene in the intended context.

For someone who just enjoys viewing cutscenes, they can peruse their library at the inn and not inconvenience up to 7 other people who are not there to watch cutscenes.

Garuda windows are limited. When I was light farming my nexus I sometimes went 3 days without seeing a garuda window. That lost 40 minutes of a garuda window means it has to be made up in other instances which take much longer. Losing 40 minutes of garuda adds hours to light farming other content.

Do you at least understand why your parties get frustrated when you make them wait while you watch the cutscene for the 1000th time?

I'd agree to locking a barrier around a boss fight if someone is watching a cut-scene only IF they make it so cut-scenes automatically progress (maybe make it so only cut-scenes in duties/trials/raids auto-progress), and IF it only applies to a persons first time watching the cut-scene.

If this lockout happens, then I'd agree to avoid queueing for story df.

And I will be far from alone in this assessment.

If you directly limit those who are primarily there to allow fast, effective completion of the dungeons, even for newbies, then you are indirectly punishing these younger players because they will lose the willingness of others to help them through the content. Hours in queue to play nearly exclusively with scrubs is a likely consequence.

If that is what you want, go ahead and pursue this agenda further.

Someone could easily AFK in a cutscene and eff up a whole party for a chance to troll. Now that isn't really fair either, is it? Having to force someone to eat the 30min timer because the whole raid is stuck. (I actually did a Prae/CM where a BLM AFK'd the whole run in what I assume was the same CS. The tanks made us wait 10 minutes before pulling the first boss 'cause we thought it was a legit newbie)

They could fix this by making the non-voiced-text able to proceed on its own, but those who read at a slower pace would complain even if it was 1min per chat box (and considering some NPCs talk FOREVER, you might be waiting for a 20min CS anyway).

This is the first and only reasonable point about CS not skipping for all.
Yes the text must go ahead itself after a reasonable time, to avoid afk or troll locking.

It already happens on some part of main scenario cs, so I guess will not be hard to have it happen everywhere.

P.S. For anyone complaining about farming times: DF for farming? Are you serious? Make a party and spam some high level.

I think most would suggest to not party using duty finder if maximizing their time is a requirement and frustration will ensue... They should make a party on their own with friends or FC members or create a party of speed/efficient runners using the party finder. Using the duty finder they will get random people new, vets, etc.

I'm running everything first time myself and watch all the cut scenes to enjoy the story. I haven't encountered anyone who wasn't willing to wait. However as me being a healer I guess they can start and risk wiping.

i just watch the C/S's in my room. ill wait and not complain about it, but id prefer if it everyone skipped.
