The idea of motorized bikes and cars isnt so far fetched.

We have magitek, which is more or less a fantasy term for modern, technology that rivals or surpasses magic.

What does magitek run on? Ceruleum which is comparable to petro. Eorzea harvests ceruleum mainly as a fuel for lighting and lampposts. Garlean use it to power their war machines from their gunships, magitek armor to their vanguards.

The technology and fuel is present in the world, someone from the Ironworks would have to develop it.
