    Pure RNG is the worst thing ever.

    I've been looking around the net and most people have the same opinion, RNG in this game is god awful. People have said 1 Atma took them over 16 hours. 1 Atma. 16 hours. How is this fun? How is this supposed to feel rewarding? Winning by chance isnt satisfying. Instead of giving the player a "Yes!" type of feeling it gives them a "****ing finally" type of feel. I know relics are meant to be time consuming, but there are better ways of doing this and I have a few suggestions for it.

    1. Make a set amount of fates or dungeons before the Relic drops.
    This will eliminate RNG entirely, and give the player a goal to work for and give them an idea of how close they are. This will also even out the playing field, as it becomes less about how lucky you are and turns into how determined you are.

    2. Make the chances increase the more times you do it.
    In Team Fortress 2, there are random critical hits, but the game determines your crit rate depending on how much damage you deal in a short amount of time. This is something the game needs. It keeps RNG, but players will at least be glad to know that with every failure, theyre actually getting better chances. Other games have adopted this mechanic and imo, its probably the best way to handle RNG.

    3. Make relics unique for each job.
    For example, Ninja can be how stealthily you can kill a target. Scholar, can be about studying the Wanderers Palace and using the knowledge you gain to access new sections. And so on and so on. Giving people entirely new experiences for each job

    Yes, I am linking DotA2 mechanics, but the "RNG" in DotA2 ensures that while the probability over time is similar to what is listed, you're guaranteed eventually to get it within -set number- of times, depending on the initial %. One drawback of such a system would be a lack of back to back drops for those lucky peeps, but then again, we're complaining about LACK of drops, not back to back drops.

    Or, you know, you could post this crap in the 50 other threads with identical "solutions" to a problem that doesn't need solving. The only ones crying about rng are the ones who refuse to raid for their weapons and grind 8 relics, that's a choice you made, you knew what you were in for as did i which is why non of my relics are higher than +1. Relics are a casual time sink something to keep people who dont raid continuing their sub, if relics had zero rng they wouldn't be doing that job anymore. If you think the relic here is bad go sub ffxi and repost again in 8 months when you get the first stage of the relic complete.

    Relic are for casuals? I'm pretty sure the Lilith Rod Zeta is BiS. I'm pretty sure several other classes have their respective Zeta's as their BiS. I'm pretty sure it doesn't take a week or 2 to learn and progress through T13, and obtain your weapon.

    The ONLY thing I agree on, is that there are numerous other complaint posts about Relic RNG

    How many FATes were done in those 16 hours?
    Before or after the nerf?

    The RNG in this game is childs play compared to others.

    That being said, the relic RNG is fine, yes its still a boring system that isn't fun at all, but that's what you get for getting the best weapon not from raids. The RNG isn't the problem, it's the quest itself that's boring as hell. Put that same RNG in something that's fun to do and we're good. Unfortunately, there are two ways to make something take longer in an MMO, make it a long ass grind where you get minimal returns towards something (Light farming) or make it RNG. The RNG aspect tends to infuriate less players overall, because it's only the people who get god awful RNG that are the vocal ones. Which is why we see the complaints, my Zodiac took me 72 dungeon runs, so with that in mind I wasn't going to complain it wasn't bad.

    Now as for the RNG in raids, that needs to be fixed, there should be a token system, so that even if you get your clears but are unlucky on the drops, you can at least get a token towards an item of gear so it's not a complete and utter waste. That way everyone is progressing.

    Yes, It can be said we all hate RNG. My personal rule with RNG is '"If I dont get something after the first or second try, walk away and go do something else" RNG, should be everywhere in the game. Its the only thing that keeps things fair and even. This is including ALL RAIDS. IMO

    People that say "rng is not bad and it dosnt need to change" have never been in the situation where its gone beyond stupid.

    When some players can score what they need in 1 run and for others it takes 100+ runs without succes then you need to start looking into adding a backup system for the rng that rewards or atleast increases the drop % if it dosnt happen in a large amount of attempts.
