When rolling Need on an item

I'm not saying give it straight to me without pressing anything. I'm saying if I'm the only one who can roll need, and I roll need, give me it because any other roll is totally pointless at that point. Obviously I can roll pass, but, I rolled need, not pass, the item is mine already and im just waiting for no reason.

I think both the replies are missing the point.

Let's look at an example:
Let's say you're in WoD and playing a SMN and there are no other SMNs or BLMs in your party. If a caster robe comes up and you select "Need", then the lotting on that item should end immediately and it should be yours. No one else is going to be able to get it.
