Nooblet Needs to finish storyline/catch up for Heavensward

    Greets,

Yes I know, Legacy and still not finished with the storyline.

    Still not level 50 yet.

For many reasons I wont get into in the forum, I am BEHIND and inexperienced with dungeons and partys. I am still around level 30s for the storyline itself and as you can see, level 44 ACN is my highest level.

I am patient and I listen to instructions. I enjoy helping others and working with others but really just so shy about my inexperience that I mostly solo content.

I am interested in getting my char up to the level where I can enjoy Heavensward but honestly, I have not even done any level 50 content so I am uncertain it is even possible to catch up by June. Since it goes on pre order soon, I wanted to find out if its pointless to buy it considering my level.

I don't want to burden anyone, I like to pull my own weight but I also like to know what I am doing before I do it, so I tend to avoid putting myself in situations where I might burden others, thus no substantial party experience on my belt.

    Any advice?

Is it even possible to level at a decent, non rushed pace enough to be level 50 and through the storyline by June?[release day]

Well any advice is appreciated, especially peeps in the linkshells that I am in.

I definitely don't think it would be pointless to buy the expansion if you weren't "caught up," but I understand the pressure to be a high level player. You should focus solely on finishing the storyline. The main story quests move quickly through the 30s and into the 40s, and that will help you get more experience in dungeons and parties.

If you want help in the dungeons, just let your party know that you're new. Sometimes you get a really great tank who will coach you through it--other times you'll get parties who will speedrun. It's just the luck of the draw. Maybe find a dungeon you like, and replay it often. I really enjoyed Dzmael Darkhold, so I ran it often. I got so used to that dungeon that by the 3rd or 4th run, I felt like a pro.

Just make sure you're having fun! It's not a race, so take it at your own pace. And if you want some helpful, friendly people to play with, let me know! I'm Tristelle Garamonde on Sargatanas. Good luck!

Thank you for your info and advice, very positive and it makes me feel less discouraged so I appreciate that.
So far I have only tried a handful of the low level dungeons and I was stressed about messing up but I had a great time when I finally got through it.

I will check out duty finder and get myself back into the swing of things! Hope to see you in game sometime! Jahdahn Vahlshdeh the char in my profile pic.

I think you're thinking too hard about it. The sub 50 dungeons in game are all fairly easy. Its nothing but just a few basic mechanics. I came back to the game when patch 2.4 launched. I had not played since way back at 1.0, and my highest class was only 27 or so. Since the 2.4 patch ive now got 4 50's and my main, my Paladin, is fully geared for end game raiding. You can chew through content really fast if you want to. I love the story, and I never skip cutscenes or blast through dialogue - I read everything and enjoyed the story. Its pretty easy to gain a full 1-2 levels per day. Leveling I feel is actually very fast in this game. Feel free to add me to friends list if you want, Ill be happy to run some dungeons with you. I think you could benefit greatly from just thrusting yourself into some and not being so tense about it. I run into brand new players all the time in dungeons, its nothing to be anxious about. Friend me, lets run some dungeons. Krazy Magic is my character name

You have PLENTY of time to get all this done before heavensward, dont worry about that.

@Krazymagic lol I am often told that I am thinking too hard about it so funny you mentioned that. I am not so much worried about difficulty of content as I am worried about partying and interacting with others who may not understand that I am still new to partying even at my level. I love to follow storyline and watch cutscenes so its impressive you have all those 50's and still take time to enjoy the cutscenes too.

For me, partying is the biggest barrier in this game, the biggest challenge. I want to just relax while partying instead of just while soloing. I was the same in FFXI, solo as much as I can until I hit the -partying required firewall-, thus never had a lev 50 character before!

I get nervous about burdening someone, panic, then I forget how to use every button I have on my screen so its embarrassing lol.

I appreciate the insight and advice. I'll add you to friends, first on lodestone then when in log in, so thank you for that. I tend to ask a lot of questions until I am sure of my role and what the party leader needs from me so be warned lol.

First of all, take a deep breath… And relaaaaaax. (^_~ )

Heavensward will be released on the 23rd of June, so you still have exactly 3 months to prepare yourself for it. (^_^ ) You can do a LOT of things in 3 months, so you got plenty of time to do so.

It might be wise to take a moment and think what about which goals you want to reach before the expansion comes out. Write them down (or post them here) and come up with a “schedule/order” in which you could complete each goal at your own pace.

My suggestion would be to pick 1 class you feel comfortable with and level it all the way to 50. From that point on, try to complete the Main Story Quest, since you will need to finish the main story quest before i gain access to the Heavensward areas. On the 31st of March, the 2.55 patch will be released, containing the final chapter of the A Ream Reborn story and the introduction to the Heavensward story. So please look forward to it. (^_~ )

I will point out that there are a few objectives in the Main Story, which will either require a group of 4 or 8 people in order to do it. So, you want to ask a few friends if they could help you clear them. If that’s going to be a problem, there plenty of people willing to help out (such as people like Tristelle, Krazy and myself). (^_^ )

You also don’t have to worry too much about asking questions. It never hurts to ask, but we cannot answer questions which have yet to be asked. Hehe.

I’m usually busy raiding on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, but i’m also in the process of leveling Ninja in my spare time. My Ninja is currently 45, so it’s in the same level range as your Arcanist.

If you have questions about classes, skills, dungeons, quests or anything else… Don’t hesitate to ask them. You can post them here so that more people can read them and reply.
